I had the pleasure of working with Christina as part of KQED’s major gifts team in our fast-paced, high-pressure department, soliciting major donors, hosting events and managing marketing campaigns. She was one of our best associates and would be a great asset to any organization that hires her.
I was thoroughly impressed with her stellar organizational skills, enterprising attitude and quick learning. As the person who trained her in this role and supervised her on several projects, I can readily say she picked up the job quickly, is easily trainable, high energy, a strong team player and has a great sense of humor. I would easily recommend Christina knowing she’s a true professional who will put her full effort into anything she takes on and that she would succeed in doing it.

I worked with Christina at the Young Women’s Project as she directed the Female Condom (FC2) outreach initiative across multiple school sites, and she also oversaw my efforts implementing a Youth Health Action Council (YHAC) in DC public high schools.

Christina knows firsthand how to build strong partnerships and coalitions from the ground up with limited resources. I saw Christina wear many hats at YWP — as program manager, curriculum developer, sexual health educator, and tireless youth advocate — and witnessed firsthand her ability to seamlessly integrate diverse youth programs and types of outreach at multiple school sites. Her extensive knowledge of youth development and sexuality education is evident, and she was an excellent model for engaging oftentimes ‘taboo’ sexual health issues with everyone from teens to adult professionals.

Christina demonstrated a strong capacity for partnership and relationship-building, and I was fortunate to learn from her as she cultivated new contacts and greater involvement in YWP’s programs. She was able to adapt her programs to each individual site and build coalitions with staff, and made inroads with even the most challenging school administrators.

What struck me most was Christina’s accessibility. She commanded respect from teens and adults alike: School staff recognized her as a knowledgeable program director; her teens respected her as an honest, trustworthy adult; and she was always there to help trouble-shoot and meet deadlines. Christina’s energy, expertise, and adaptability are unparalleled, and I would not hesitate to recommend her as an asset to the field.

Christina is a role model for my colleagues and I at YWP. It’s evident that she has expertise in educational techniques, working with youth, and in developing materials on sensitive topics, as well as genuine dedication to sexual and reproductive health and rights.
At YWP, Christina flawlessly directs the PHASE program, and oversees PHASE-related projects like the Youth Health Action Council and the FC2 project. For both, she is effectively working directly with, and overseeing, young people empowering their peers to learn about their options in contraception and HIV/STI protection. She has also guided me through my efforts as a project coordinator on the FC2 project.
No job is too big or too small for Christina. Her experience and positive attitude are strong assets to her directorial and managerial role at YWP.

As a Vice President for The Community College Foundation, I had the opportunity to work with and supervise Christina. Christina became employed with The Community College Foundation as a Program Manager for the Wells Fargo eBus (a mobile technology program sponsored by Wells Fargo that delivers free technology education to underserved communities throughout the Bay Area). Christina has the ability to work effectively with corporate sponsors through her professionalism, strong attention to detail, and communication skills. Christina was responsible for securing renewal contracts from Wells Fargo totaling over $600K. Through highly detailed reporting, Christina helped to create annual grant proposals submitted to the Wells Fargo Foundation. Christina created and maintained a successful program and forged many new partnerships for The Community College Foundation, as well as for Wells Fargo.

Based on Christina’s success with the eBus Program and her vast skills in education, she was selected to be a member of an internal taskforce to take our Supplemental Education Services Tutoring Program nationwide. Christina was promoted to an Area Manger position for the 1-2-1 Tutoring Program that encompassed managing the expansion for Northern California (Sacramento, Stockton, Oakland, San Jose, and San Francisco). As a member of the taskforce, Christina helped to write 5 state proposals that granted the Foundation as an approved Supplemental Education Service provider.

Christina has an excellent work ethic; always willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done. She has the ability to work well independently, requiring very little supervision; as well as an integral member of any team. I would give Christina Ramos my highest recommendation, as she would be a valuable asset to any organization.
